Wikipedia

What? My teacher is linking Wikipedia as the first research resource?  Yes--because I know that's where you'll go first (if you haven't been there already, and Wikipedia is actually quite useful).
My policy is that you MAY use Wikipedia as a starting point for your research, but by no means as your only source. Just be sure to evaluate the particular page you're using for reliability. Use Wikipedia to get an idea of the basics on your topic and suggestions for other sources.
Before you use Wikipedia, however, you must view the video "Wikipedia Beneath the Surface" and read the article, "Ten Things You May Not Know about Wikipedia," Wikipedia's own advice on using it as a source. Both are linked below.
In addition you must read the plagiarism page so that you know how to avoid plagiarizing any of the sources you use for your work.
After clicking on each of the links below, print, complete, and sign 
the attached research contract.  Once you turn it in you may begin conducting research for assignments.
